What Are Dentures?

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth that is custom-made to fit your mouth and restore appearance, functionality, and confidence.

  • What Kind of Dentures Do You Offer?
    • Complete (Full) Dentures: These dentures replace your entire upper or lower set of teeth when there are no healthy teeth remaining. Complete dentures are removable.
    • Partial Dentures: These dentures replace up to a few missing teeth. These are a great choice if you still have healthy teeth on the top or bottom. Partial dentures are removable.
    • Implant-Supported Dentures: This system is a hybrid of dentures and dental implants. Your denture is permanently secured to as few as four dental implants. This option is often fixed in place.
  • Does It Hurt?

The process for receiving dentures is not all that painful. If your dentist must extract teeth, they will numb the area with local anesthesia. You may experience dull pain following the extractions, but it won’t last long.

As you begin to wear your dentures, there will be a period of adjustment. They may feel uncomfortable at first, but this will pass as your mouth becomes adjusted to your new appliance. Ask about our dental sedation options if you are especially concerned about pain.
